This place is old-school, and I like it like that.
I came in to cater in lunch and was greeted by a nice old man at the front desk, the deli is no frills and they do what they do best, make great food with a smile. -

What a lovely old school Italian deli. I discovered it after moving to Long Island several years ago. Their Eggplant Parmesan is through the roof! I did not use to be a big eggplant fan, but they converted me, to the point I am now growing some in my garden just to make it at home! Theirs is just ridiculously delicious and always fresh, probably because it sells out within a few minutes of coming out! They have other items too, but I can't seem to deviate from the Eggplant Parm, crazy coming from someone who used to detest eggplant. Prepared any other way I probably still do to be honest.
Aside from that one dish. They are a deli and seem to sell many sandwiches and other entree dishes such as Chicken Parm, sausage and peppers, everything looks great and smells amazing. I usually find myself there when I need Prosciutto de Parma, soppresata and fresh mozzarella. I love their fresh mozzarella, and they know how to slice Italian meat. Paper thin! They also turned me on to these tomatoes that I love, Le San Marzano, not the tomatoes, I always use those kind, but the brand, See my picture. It makes by far the best tasting sauce I have made. I have several recipes, and when I use this sauce they taste 100 times better then when I've used any other sauce. My kids love it so much they ask to go to Arditos to get more tomatoes for the sauce!
So if you are hankering for some delicious ingredients or looking for a quick lunch that will knock your socks off, don't hesitate, Tony and his wife along with any of the staff will hook you up! -

My family caters from here all the time and I love It! I hosted my own party yesterday and catered hero's. I ordered the Italian and grilled chicken/mozz/roasted pepper. Really all great! Wish the potato and Mac salad didn't have so much mayo but I highly recommend food from here!

Mama Mia, maybe I ordered the wrong thing? I was handed a
massive-sized but kind of tasteless and bland, chicken cutlet
hero with mozzarella. I dunno, it wasn't the worst thing I've
ever eaten, but I chucked most of it because it was rather tasteless
and bland and just unexciting. I also asked for Russian dressing,
received none that I could find. Maybe their pasta or sausage
and peppers and such are much better, I honestly dunno. I'd give
the pasta and such a shot, but not anytime soon after today's
anti-lunch attempt. All this, after being really pissed off having
tried going to Werner's Deli down the road, and finding it owned
by non-German Asian folks who were microwaving stuff.
Nah, not really. No no no no nein, no! Looks like L.I. is losing
all of its once-great delis, and worse. I find it pathetic and sad, really.
